Doesn't Mother Nature realize it's June and not April?
Friday night's contest between the
Yankees and Rays was washed away. No makeup date was announced, but Tampa will return to the Bronx Sept. 7 for a three-game set and both squads will have a day off Sept. 10.
Cue the Creedence:
So, the battle between David Price (1-0, 3.00 ERA) and CC Sabathia (5-3, 3.46) will take place Saturday afternoon.
The Bombers will
shuffle their rotation a bit on account of the rain out. Joba Chamberlain will take the hill Sunday and Andy Pettitte (not A.J. Burnett) will pitch Monday night in the series finale. That means Burnett will start the opener Tuesday night against the Boston Red Sox.
It also means that Chien-Ming Wang will go Wednesday night at Fenway Park.
No one ever said the road to redemption was easy.
Carl the Ace Pavano pitched a three-hit shutout!
Why the hell didn't we resign him???????????
You can't mean that ...
Pavano makes me want to retch and vomit!
I can't help wondering if the Yankees have been mishandling injured pitchers.
I don't know about that, but I wouldn't base it on what Pavano is doing this year. That guy was a disaster in pinstripes nearly from Day 1.
