Yanks Land Teixeira
Jon Heyman is reporting the Yanks are on the verge of signing Teixeira. More details as they become available.
From a Yankee fan's perspective, I love it. From a baseball fan's perspective, I hate it. More on that later as well, if it happens.
UPDATE: Buster Olney says it's a done deal. 8 years, $180M. Bill Madden fills out the picture with a $5M signing bonus and full no-trade clause.

This solves the lineup problems, in a big way. Oh, and it also has the benefit shafting the Sawks, who won't bid on Manny and haven't upgraded their roster at all.

You're too quick for me, Bri. It definitely solves the lineup problems for this year, but Teixeira isn't a $21+ million a year type of player.
Remember all those times I told you to not worry about signing Swisher?.. How told you that they could still sign Tex?.. I was right and I'm happy to be so.
Now trade Nady possibly for a #4 pitcher cheaper and more effective than Pettitte.
