It lacked the drama of a final at-bat victory, but it'll due. It'll due.
Andy Pettitte was shaky but worked into the seventh inning, Mark Teixeira homered twice and drove in four and Alex Rodriguez went deep for the third consecutive game as the
Yanks held off the Twins 7-6 at The Stadium. Melky Cabrera and Fancisco Cervelli collected two hits and a run batted in apiece and Phil Coke survived a bumpy ninth to earn his first career save. The Bombers completed the four-game sweep of the Twinkies and have won six straight overall.

Unfortunately, I was stricken with a blinding headache and missed all the action. Anyone ever see Scanners? I did, however, catch John and Suzy's "interview" with
senior vice president Felix Lopez on my drive home. It might have been one of the worst interviews in the history of interviews. Lopez came on to talk about the problems or concerns with the new stadium -- fans not being allowed in the concrete moat during batting practice without a golden ticket, the early-season homers to right-center field, the short fence in right field, etc. -- and how the team was going to address them. Trouble is, he didn't give one specific on anything. It was a nightmare. At one point, Suzy asked him what three things he would change with the new stadium. Lopez's response? Bringing a championship to the Bronx. Dur.
Anyway, no roundup. I collapsed as soon as I got home. And I dreamed that I was riding a winged horse. I checked the Dream Dictionary and here's what it said:
To dream that you are riding a horse, suggests that you are in a high position or position of power. Alternatively, it indicates that you will achieve success through underhanded means. You lack integrity. If you are riding a horse that is out of control, then it signifies that you are being carried away by your passions.
That doesn't sound like me at all. I'll pretend I was dreaming that I was one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse instead.
The Yanks will welcome in the Baltimore Orioles for a three-game set beginning Tuesday night. Brad Bergesen (1-1, 5.27 ERA) will go against CC Sabathia (3-3, 3.70 ERA) in the opener.
I should be around for this one. Should be ...
