3 Years, $75M For Manny?
An unconfirmed report from Impacto Deportivo says the Yanks and Manny are on the verge of a three year deal worth $75M and an announcement could come Monday or Tuesday. Tim from MLBTR has a history of ID's rumor reporting in the past, so take a look at his take and decide for yourselves if you want to believe it or not.
If true, I'd say you can finally officially count the Yanks out of the Teixeira sweepstakes, you can also probably bank on another deal to follow. If they stood pat, we'd probably see an outfield defense of Manny in left, Damon in center and Nady in right. In other words, we'd see the worst outfield defense in the league.

By the way, if this rumor is true, commenter Alex absolutely nailed it a couple of weeks ago. He said Manny for 3/$75M.
I think the report is wrong, I still think Manny will get that from someone.

The Twins have the richest owner in sports and they penny pinch, the Yankees have arguably the best owner(s) a fan could ask for, they just want to win..

I'm not a huge fan of over-spending in free agency by the wealthiest teams. I'm also not a huge fan of "small market" teams cashing their huge revenue sharing checks and not putting a dime of that money into their teams. I'm definitely not a fan of the ALL CAPS COMMENT, either.
Personally, I'd rather they didn't sign Manny and I think signing Teix would be ridiculous as well. I would've been happy if they stopped with CC and maybe made a couple of trades to get younger, faster and better defensively, but I'm not running the team.

Be better off signing Bonds for the league minimum at DH. Media circus at no additional charge.
