If there was some kind of hope last year's championship would've somehow mellowed Joe Girardi's meddlesome tendencies, the first game certainly put a damper on it.

I just got home from The Stadium. My voice is gone, my back is toast, my head is pounding and I've never been more pumped. Watching him submarine this team is one of the most painful things I've had to endure in my 30+ years as a fan. I don't know how much more I can take.

Youkilis hesitated for a second (to give the catcher enough time to stop him), then charged the mound. This was a defining moment for the league's biggest sissy.
